My name is Davlen Sutton and I am the proud CEO and humbled owner of this store.
My Story
Although I Work in the Healthcare industry, I have always had a lifelong passion and hobby of baking and creating. It is such a joy to work with your hands and create beautiful and wonderful things. With whimsical thoughts brought to fruition and to see the pure excitement in the eyes of all whom experienced my work is soul satisfying. In 2020 my heart finally led me to take my passion for baking and candle making to another level. This is why most of my fragrances are food related. I watched my mother, grandmothers and aunts cook and bake. Their food was the center of all family gatherings. It sparked many conversations, love, laughter, togetherness and inspiration. I am proud that my fragrances spark some of those same sentiments to you and your families. With overwhelming support and guidance from our Lord, who is the head of my life, my father, my siblings and two of my best and closest friends, I finally took that leap of faith. Through many trials, tribulations, testing, late nights and early mornings, I began to make samples for friends and family members to the point that I found myself making and creating candles and wax melts all the time. I felt I've found my calling. I love what I do. The fragrances that fill the air when I'm creating is amazing. I am thrilled to share this experience with you all. I hope you enjoy them as much as everyone else has and that our home fragrances become part of your home decor and traditions. My hope is that Guilty Obsessions becomes an obsession that warms your heart and your home for years to come.
My Inspiration
Inspired by wonderful childhood memories of fragrances that wafted through our home that made us feel warm and loved. Whether it was mom cooking and baking for the holidays or for school bake sales, office parties or church functions, I have always felt that special feeling of cozy affirmation. At Guilty Obsessions, we're inspired by nostalgic fragrances that transport you to a time and place where your fondest memories are triggered by what was. That magical moment that tied your emotions to an endearing memory you wish you could've captured in a bottle for all time. Here at Guilty Obsessions, we like to encapsulate the natural beauty of the world around us. From the colors of a sunset to the scent of a blooming garden, we strive to capture the essence of these moments in our candles. We believe that candles have the power to transport you to another realm, and we're committed to creating memories that do just that. The creations and designs of my candles are designed with you in mind. The wonder of recreating those special times with one's own hands and seeing the pure thrill of enjoyment in the customers eyes is a priceless experience to behold.
All of our fragrance oils are infused with natural essential oils and are carefully selected.
Soy wax is a naturally- derived product which allows for an extended burn time. Has no unsightly black soot and is preferred by more than half the candle makers of the market today, naturally.
Our braided flat cotton wick with paper thread woven into the cotton; ensures a consistent burn with higher fragrance loads which complements our naturally derived waxes.
All dyes used in our candles and wax melts are formulated without phthalates. Excludes ingredients that are harmful to health. These dyes are formulated without carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins and acute toxins. They're also vegan friendly.
Glitter is also biodegradable which is eco-friendly and safe for use in these products.
All micas that are used in our wax melts are also eco-friendly. We aspire to create luxurious, health friendly and eco-friendly products.
